Freelander District One Cabernet Sauvignon
The Cabernet Sauvignon from California is the second Cabernet release from Freelander. Aged in American oak, it shows massively rich flavors of blackberries and cassis. This full-bodied wine shows lush mouthfeel, balance, and complexity. The ripe, sweet tannins, and a touch of toasted oak complete the gentle finish.
The 2018 harvest was accelerated by a heatwave over the Labor Day weekend, which pushed up sugar levels and forced wineries, vineyard workers, and growers to adapt quickly to rapidly ripening vineyard fruit. Prior to that, even summertime temperatures made for a nice growing season that was kicked off by a moderate spring.

I don’t think I have been this excited about a cab in a long time! I think this Cabernet is outstanding! It is everything that a Cab should be without the hefty price! Slightly dry but fruity, medium-bodied with great flavor but not overpowering or sweet. Drinks like a cab that would be twice the price! This is one of my new favorites!
