CorkQueen

I love wine and I love football.  This wine brings the best of both worlds together.  This wine is Charles Woodson’s latest project and in CorkQueen’s opinion … It is a Touchdown!

Charles Woodson is a former American football player. He played college football for Michigan, where he led the Wolverines to a share of the national championship in 1997. Woodson, a “two-way player” who played both offense and defense, won the Heisman Trophy in the same year. Charles played in the NFL from 1998 – 2016.   Where challenges become triumphs and hard work pays off. For moments when the possibilities are wide open. Charles Woodson brings the same passion and hard work to his wine as his once-in-a-lifetime football career.

With Intercept, the defensive great delivers wines from Monterey County and Paso Robles with diversity and complexity that reflects his own storied journey.

Feeling like something red but a little lighter, this Pinot Noir will please the taste buds!  Like its Cabernet brother, you can’t go wrong with this Pinot Noir.

Don’t just Intercept…Pick Six for the Score!

Winemaker

Charles Woodson: “My love of wine happened organically while being in Napa Valley during training camp while playing for the Oakland Raiders in the ’90s,” says Charles Woodson.

“The way people connected with wine intrigued me and I wanted to be a part of it,” Woodson says. “I created Intercept for my fans.  The fans demanded it.   They wanted more from me and I wanted to deliver.  My fans wanted to connect with me after football and wine is the great connector.”
“For both the wine business and in football, if you want longevity, you must work hard.   If you want to make a great wine that can stand the test of time, then you must put the time and the work into it,”  says Woodson.

“This was even true in finding the location. After touring the Paso Robles and Monterey area, I knew I had found the right home for Intercept.  The perfect pairing, so to speak,” adds Woodson.
