Description
L’Aventure Optimus 2019, Paso Robles Willow Creek District
96 points James Suckling: Extremely aromatic with ripe cherry and berry aromas, as well as flowers and citrus. Medium to full body with fine, polished tannins and a long, caressing finish. This is really well done and one of the most balanced L’Aventures I have encountered. Drinkable now, but better in two or three years. – August, 2021, James Suckling
This wine is Optimus, a perfect example of Bordeaux meets the Rhone. The grapes are sourced entirely from the estate L’Aventure Vineyard at very low yield of just 2.5 tons per acre. The wine aged for 14 months in 60% new French oak and 40% 1-year-old French oak and was bottled without fining or filtering.
