Leefield Station Sauvignon Blanc

A deliciously ripe fragrant nose of zesty citrus, green apple. This is accompanied by a layered palate of gooseberry, guava, and underlying minerality. With a crisp backbone of acidity and boundless length, this wine has a pleasingly dry finish that reflects the climate and growing conditions of the Waihopai Valley.

Ripe tropical flavors including peach, guava, melon, and citrus. Fleshy and very mellow, the wine has beautiful purity and undeniable energy, the finish long and refreshing.

Vineyard

Leefield Station Sauvignon Blanc

Leefield Station is a fully operational vineyard farm located in the Waihopai Valley of Marlborough. It is one of the oldest Stations in Marlborough, dating back to the 1840s when it was settled by Constantine Dillon. In 2013 Brent Marris of Marisco Vineyards purchased the 2,200 ha property with sights set for not only it’s pastoral farming potential but also to convert a large portion of the land to the vineyard. Something Brent does superbly well!

Whilst Marisco Vineyards are most well known for their wine brands – farming does run in the family. Brent plans to draw on the knowledge and experience of his father John Marris, a stock and station agent who switched to real estate and was a pioneer in the Marlborough Wine Industry – helping Montana Wines establish their vineyards in 1973.
