Moss Roxx Zinfandel Ancient Vine Reserve, Lodi
The legacy of Moss Roxx began in 1888 when the first vineyard was planted by our Italian immigrants as they settled in Lodi. These vineyards are over a century old and are laden with rocks and gravely soil. The boulders and vines are covered in moss from their years of exposure to the elements. The goal with these grapes is to craft a flagship wine that exemplifies the very best that Lodi’s signature grape, Zinfandel, could be.

Produced by Oak Ridge Winery, this red blend will be enjoyable to just about everyone. Since it is from the Lodi area, you can expect it to be very fruit forward – bold, but smooth. Definitely one of my favorite Lodi wines!
Winemaker
Generous blackberry, maple, and boysenberry coats the palate with a delightful jammy texture. Subtle vanilla oak and white pepper round out the finish with medium tannins.

Tasting
This blend is comprised of 81% Zinfandel, 17% Petite Sirah, and 2% Tempranillo. Deep red fruit aromas lead to notes of toasty vanilla with firm tannins and bold structure. Aged 16 months in 100% French oak.
